I was elected to the legislature in 1994  and am currently serving in my 7th term.  I am Chairman of the House Commerce Committee, Chairman of the Joint Fiscal Review Committee and Co-chair of the Select Committee on Veteran's Affairs. I also serve on the Joint Committee on Worker's Compensation and the Joint Corrections Oversight Committee.

I reside in the western part of White County with my wife, Peggy. We have one daughter, Nichole Curtiss. We live on a portion of a farm that was owned by my grandfather and his father before him. Most of my life I earned my living as a brick mason. In 1982 I was elected to the White County Commission and in 1986 I was elected as the White County Executive.
